EMDR

At Making Space Psychotherapy, we are proud to be a leading clinic for trauma and relationship therapy in Hamilton, Ontario, with a strong emphasis on EMDR as a core part of our work.

Our team includes several highly trained EMDR clinicians who specialize in expanded forms of EMDR, including Attachment Focused EMDR (AF-EMDR), Standard EMDR, and Somatic EMDR.

This allows us to offer personalized and effective care for individuals navigating complex trauma, relational challenges, and nervous system dysregulation.

We are especially proud to offer AF-EMDR based on the extensive training our clinicians have completed with the world-renowned Parnell Institute in California. This training makes our therapists uniquely qualified to provide support for complex trauma, childhood abuse, attachment trauma, and to work with those who have found that the standard EMDR protocol did not work for them.

Our therapists are also trained to work with recent events to prevent trauma from settling into the system -- this means we ideally avoid seeing PTSD symptoms manifest.

As specialists in trauma-informed therapy, we are committed to delivering innovative, evidence-based treatment.

If you are looking for quality support with EMDR or AF-EMDR in Hamilton, Ontario, our team is here to help.

IFS

Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy is one of the key modalities we offer at Making Space Psychotherapy, and it plays a central role in how we support healing and self-discovery.

IFS offers a deeply respectful and transformative way to work with the different parts of you—especially those shaped by trauma, emotional pain, or protective patterns.

Whether you're meeting with an IFS therapist in Hamilton, connecting with an IFS therapist in Burlington, or exploring IFS therapy online, our team is here to guide you with warmth, skill, and curiosity.

Many clients find that IFS helps them develop greater self-understanding, inner harmony, and lasting change.

Our Registered Psychotherapists are trained in IFS, and integrate it with compassion and care.

You can work with an IFS therapist in Hamilton, an IFS therapist in Burlington, or access IFS therapy online.

We believe that healing happens when you reconnect with your core Self, and IFS therapy offers a clear path to get there. If you're looking for thoughtful, attuned support through IFS, we’d be honoured to work with you..

If you're seeking IFS therapy, we welcome you to reach out and begin your journey with us.

ALL are welcome.

The land on which our clinics operate have been the traditional land of the Erie, Neutral, Huron-Wendat, Haudenosaunee, and Mississaugas of the Credit for thousands of years.
