Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy
Welcome! I specialize in trauma, childhood trauma, attachment styles, relationship issues, narcissistic abuse, emotional abuse, boundary setting, living with or managing a dysfunctional family, personal growth, fostering trust in the self, cultural identity, life transitions and dramatic shifts due to accidents, injuries and death. I offer compassion, flexibility and humour (when it's appropriate) in our work together.
You may doubting yourself, feeling hopeless, battling guilt and self-loathing, or struggling with your thoughts or feelings. Or perhaps you are struggling to just be in your body in the present. You may have been thinking about taking this step for a long time, or you may have just realized you have something you want to process. Wherever you are in your journey, let's begin there.
I use a wholistic, culturally sensitive, IFS-informed and client-centred approach. What does this mean? It means that I can get creative and combine a variety of styles, and it also means that I am paying attention to what resonates with you and the ways you process the work we are doing together.
In our work together we will explore the full picture of your experience -- this is a space where you don't need to mask (unless it feels safer to do so). Your unique way of being is welcome!
I completed my graduate studies at Yorkville University, and my undergraduate studies at the University of Toronto. I have since completed training in Internal Family Systems (IFS), also referred to as parts work and Narcissistic Abuse.
In addition to my training I bring a personal understanding of the complexities that can arise within family or personal relationships, particularly when layered with mental health, substance use challenges or attachment issues. I have a deep appreciation and understanding for how complicated relationships of all kinds can be, and how this can make you question yourself, your role in your unique social world, as well as your role in the broader social world.
What is your unique story? Let's connect.
